Specialist vs. dealer — an honest comparison

Dealers do some things best. For everything else, you have a choice.

Factory warranty repairs and recalls belong at the dealer, because the manufacturer pays for them there. Dealers also get new tools and service bulletins first.

For everything else, you have a choice. Under federal law, routine maintenance or repairs at an independent shop don't by themselves void your new-car warranty. What protects you is correct procedures, correct parts and good records, and we give you all three.

Not sure where to go? Call us. If it's a warranty or recall job, we'll tell you to take it to the dealer.

What you get here
  1. A full-time shop foreman, a former Ferrari and Porsche foreman, oversees diagnosis and repairs.
  2. Every estimate is in writing before work starts.
  3. Body, paint and mechanical work under one roof, if you need both.
  4. A lifetime warranty on our work. Dealer and chain-shop repair warranties are usually limited by time or miles.

Questions — owners ask

Straight answers.

Do you work on Ferrari and Lamborghini, or only Porsche?
Yes, we work on both. PorscheWorks handles mechanical repair on Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, BMW, Land Rover, Range Rover and Mercedes-AMG, and comparable European performance and luxury cars.
Who works on my car?
Our shop foreman, a former Ferrari and Porsche foreman who works full time in the shop. He oversees diagnosis and repairs and knows the systems on Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, BMW and Land Rover and Range Rover, and comparable cars.
Do you only work on exotics?
No. We do everything from a full clutch replacement on a Lamborghini Murciélago to brakes on a new Porsche Macan or Range Rover, with the same lifetime warranty on all of it.
Will servicing my car here void my factory warranty?
No, not by itself. Federal law says a manufacturer can't void your warranty only because an independent shop did your maintenance or repairs. Keep your records; we give you itemized invoices for every visit. Factory warranty repairs and recalls are still paid at the dealer.
What warranty do you give on repairs?
A lifetime warranty on all work, mechanical and collision. You get the written terms with your estimate.
Can you do a pre-purchase inspection on a car I'm about to buy?
Yes. We check the engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes and electronics, and because we're a collision shop, we also look for prior accident repair and repaint. You get a written report. Call for pricing and turnaround.
My car was in an accident and now has mechanical problems. Can you fix both?
Yes. Gold Coast Collision Center does the body and paint, and PorscheWorks handles the mechanical side, all under one roof and one lifetime warranty. We work with all insurance companies on the claim.
