What we do — body and refinish

Body work that fits, paint that matches.

The same bay, the same painters and the same standard whether the car is a Honda or a Porsche.

How we match color— step by step

Matched to your car, not to a chart.

  1. Read the paint code, then the car

The code gets us close. Years of Florida sun change every car, so we also read the car itself.

  2. Spray test cards

Variants of the color are sprayed on test cards and compared against the car in daylight until one disappears.

  3. Prep and prime

Panels are stripped where needed, filled, primed and blocked flat. Composite panels get their own primers.

  4. Paint and blend

Base coat on the repair, carried into the adjacent panel, then clear coat over the whole area so there is no edge.

  5. Cure, polish, inspect

Baked, polished and checked panel by panel in daylight before the car goes back to you.

Parts, warranty, claim— what every paint job includes

The right panels, a lifetime warranty and the claim handled for you.

Paint is the part of a repair you look at every day, so it has to match, and it has to last. It also has to go over the right panel, and the insurer has to pay for doing it properly. This is how we handle each one.

OEM panels under the paint

When a panel has to be replaced, we request the OEM panel: it lines up with the gaps on the car and carries the factory corrosion protection, so the new paint sits on a part that fits. Some policies specify aftermarket or recycled parts. Whether OEM is covered depends on your policy, and we tell you what was approved before any panel is ordered.

Lifetime warranty on paint and body work

Every collision, paint and mechanical repair we do comes with a lifetime warranty. If our work fails, bring the car back and we'll make it right. You get the written terms with your estimate.

Refinish work is covered by the same lifetime warranty as the collision repair and the mechanical work, with one set of written terms for all of it.

Paint on an insurance claim

  1. If the damage came from a collision or a covered event, open a claim and tell your insurer the car is here.
  2. We write the estimate with the blend into the adjacent panels included, because a matched repair needs it.
  3. We deal with the adjuster and send a supplement for anything found once the panel is off.
  4. Cosmetic work outside a claim is quoted directly, in writing, before we start.

Questions— paint

Asked about paint.

Will the new paint match the rest of the car?
Yes. We spray test cards against the car in daylight and blend the new color into the adjacent panels. The repair should be invisible.
Can you repaint just one panel?
Yes, and we blend the color into the panels next to it so there is no visible edge where new paint meets old.
Do you repair matte paint?
Matte finishes are refinished panel by panel. Matte cannot be spot blended or polished, so the whole panel is done.
Why do you paint the panel next to the repair?
Blending carries the new color into the adjacent panel so your eye never meets a hard edge between new paint and old. It is the difference between a repair that matches up close and one that only matches from across the street.
Is paint work covered by the warranty?
Yes. Paint and body work carry the same lifetime warranty as every repair here. You get the written terms with your estimate.
Does insurance cover paint repair?
If the damage is from a collision or a covered event, usually yes. We write the estimate and deal with the adjuster. Cosmetic work outside a claim is quoted directly.

Send a photo of the panel.

One photo in daylight from a few feet back is enough for a first read. We'll tell you whether it's a spot repair, a panel or a blend.
